Chances are you have a sense of what you value most, even if you can’t readily put it into words.
That’s where this exercise comes in.
By going through this list and making note of the words that resonate, you can figure out your true values.
Turns out that I’m big on growth, expressiveness, and dependability.
Which helps explain why I do a lot of the things I do, like spending a significant portion of my days reading or listening to podcasts (growth) and writing (expressiveness). And while I may not get a new post out every Wednesday, you can be certain that I will get some sort of new content on this blog at least once or twice a month (dependability). 😊
My values dictate my priorities, which in turn dictate what I decide to do on a day-to-day basis.
Odds are if you are living according to your values you are going to feel relatively happy and fulfilled, even if other things in your life aren’t going quite as well as you might like.
Which I guess explains how thriving despite chronic pain is possible.
So, if you find that you aren’t living according to your values, you might want to spend some time figuring out why.
What do y’all think? Do you think your values shape your priorities?
