Illness, disease, bad luck…
No matter what brought you here, your chronic pain isn’t your fault.
We live in a world that is so quick to blame us for our own problems. But the truth of the matter is that health and wellness are not guaranteed. To anyone.
Eating perfectly, drinking eight glasses of water a day, getting enough sleep, managing stress – all the things we’ve been told that are so important to health and happiness – are not magic bullets.
We are human. We will age. No amount of healthy living will protect us from accidents, death, or disease.
And blaming ourselves for not living perfectly is pointless too. Genetics play a role. Environmental factors, from pollution to poverty, affect health, too.
It’s vitally important to remember that we are all doing the best we can. And that no one in their right mind would ever purposefully make choices that would lead to them living in pain.
